Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) continue to progress against the background of an increase in risk factors and the emergence of new ones, such as postcovid syndrome. Due in part to this influence, the progression of the atherosclerotic process and deterministic cardiovascular diseases is observed. This work presents the results of studying the molecular characteristics of parasitic tapeworms Echinococcus canadensis. The helminths were discovered during the autopsy of a wolf (Canis lupus Linnaeus, 1758) killed by hunters in the Kirov oblast in 2021. A molecular phylogenetic study was performed by analyzing the sequence of a fragment of the first subunit of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase gene (CoxI).

The article is devoted to an urgent problem - primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. Modern approaches to management tactics depending on age and the appointment of antiplatelet therapy with acetylsalicylic acid in low doses from 75 to 150 mg/day are presented. At the same time, the relatively high effectiveness of the use of ASA for primary prevention in men 40-69 years old without an increased risk of bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract is shown.

The article deals with usage of nondihydropiridine calcium antagonists--verapamil and dilthiasem--in treating patients with arterial hypertension, cardiomyopathy and arrhythmia, for secondary prevention of IHD. Data also concern cardio-, angio--and nephroprotective activity of the medications, their ability to prevent left ventricle hypertrophy, possible usage in patients after myocardial infarction.
