Objective: As a site of the Thai Anesthesia Incidents Monitoring Study (Thai AIMS), the authors continued data collection of incident reports to find out the frequency, clinical course, contributing factors, factors minimizing adverse events, and investigation of model appropriate for possible corrective strategies in a Thai university hospital.

Material And Method: A standardized anesthesia incident report form that included close-end and open-end questions was provided to the attending anesthesia personnel of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital between January I and December 31, 2007. They filled it on a voluntary and anonymous basis.

Background: As a site of the Thai Anesthesia Incidents Study (THAI Study) of anesthetic adverse outcome, the authors continued the institutional data collection to determine the incidence of intraoperative oxygen desaturation of geriatric patients (age 65 years and over) and relative factors representing a Thai university hospital.

Material And Method: Between July 1, 2003 and March 31, 2007, an anesthesia registry was conducted at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. Anesthesiologists and anesthesia residents were requested to record perioperative variables and adverse outcomes including oxygen desaturation (SpO2 < or = 90% for 3 minutes or SpO2 < 85%) on a structured data record form.

Background: As a site of the Thai Anesthesia Incidents Study (THAI Study) of anesthetic adverse outcome, the authors continued the institutional data collection to determine the incidence and factors related to 24-hour perioperative cardiac arrest in geriatric patients (aged 65 years and over) representing a Thai university hospital.

Background And Objectives: As part of the Thai Anesthesia Incidents Study of anesthetic adverse outcomes, we evaluated the incidence and factors related to cardiac arrest during spinal anesthesia.

Methods: During a 12-mo period (March 1, 2003, to February 28, 2004), a prospective, multicenter registry of patients receiving anesthesia was initiated in 20 hospitals (7 university, 5 tertiary, 4 general, and 4 district hospitals) across Thailand. Anesthesia personnel reported patient-, surgery-, and anesthetic-related variables and adverse outcomes, including cardiac arrest during spinal anesthesia (defined as the time period from induction of spinal anesthesia until the end of operation).

Background: The demand of occupancy in neurosurgical intensive care unit (NICU) has extremely risen up in King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital but the intensive care personnel have not proportionally increased with the demand identifying especially for intensivists. The possible management that may be help to solve this problem is identifying the factors which may be involved in prolonging length of stay (LOS) in ICU and modifying of those risk factors.

Objective: To determine the factors which influenced the LOS in NICU.
