Mass and signal transfer, dispersion of reactive metabolites in living cells, and interactions between biomacromolecules are greatly affected by viscosity inside the cells. It is crucial to accurately determine viscosity for reliable results because of the complexities of live cells. Herein, we introduce a new fluorescence probe based on the cyanobiphenyl and benzothiazolium units.

The probe C4P demonstrated high selective and sensitive detection towards Zn over other competitive metal ions. Interaction of Zn with a solution of C4P resulted in a considerable increment in emission intensity at 440 nm (λ = 365 nm) due to the suppression of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) process and the restriction of C=N isomerization.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel anthracene based fluorescent probe containing benzothiazole group (BFA) was designed and synthesized. The cation binding properties of BFA were studied in the presence of various cations. Both UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopic studies indicated that BFA was highly sensitive and selective toward trivalent cations (Cr(3+) and Fe(3+)), while there was no response to monovalent, divalent cations and also Al(3+) ion.

Patients with complete atrioventricular septal defect rarely survive for decades without surgical treatment. Pulmonary stenosis can provide a delicate balance between the pulmonary and systemic circulations and thereby increase longevity.
