Mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome are typical representatives of malignant lymphomas of the T-series affecting the skin. Both affections have a varied clinical picture, a different spectrum of histological and laboratory findings and lack a uniform prognosis. In the submitted review the authors discuss in more detail all mentioned aspects of the disease and draw attention to new therapeutic possibilities.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBased on available recent data from the literature the authors review recent findings pertaining to the etiopathogenesis, immunology, clinical manifestations and treatment of primary gastrointestinal lymphomas. From the pathogenetic aspect in particular the close association with infections and immune disorders in various portions of the gastrointestinal tract is important. In their review the authors draw attention to new aspects of the histological and immunological classification of these tumors, in particular as far as definition of lymphomas of the MALT-system is concerned.

In a series of 164 patients, a retrospective study has been carried out on the incidence, frequency and character of bleeding episodes occurring in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. The authors stress the relatively high frequency of haemorrhagic complications which were causing death in a significant proportion of cases (5.5%).
