The generation of superoxide anion radicals (in mitochondria, microsomes and under respiratory burst of leucocytes) and nitric oxide (NO) in renal tissue has been studied in the experiment with white rats, which had been carried out nephrotomy with following usage for suture such absorbable surgical threads as plain and chromic catgut, biofil (of dura mater spinalis of the cattle), Dexon II (polyglycolic acid) and biofil modified with aethonium, succinate and mexidol. The research proves the use of plai and chromic catgut leads to the development longer oxidative stress with increasing of cytotoxic agents production (superoxide anion and NO). The risk of longitudinal oxidative stress decreases under the use of biofil suture modified with biological active compounds (aethonium, succinate and mexidol).

The content of DNA 8-hydroxyguanine is characterized by a wide range of data and in absolute values increases in inflammation, but decreases after antioxidant correction. The role of the changes discovered is discussed.

It is supposed that an increase or decrease of superoxydanionradical production from different sources demands a differentiated corrective approach.

The above patients demonstrate enhancement of the antioxidant defence in the blood with the values for free-radical peroxidation remaining unchanged. Absolute values for blood content of LTV4 in chronic active hepatitis were found out to be low, which fact suggests that such patients need to be kept under periodic oncological surveillance.

In liver and kidneys superoxide dismutase activity increases, in liver--increasing of initiate and final malondialdehyde contents and lowering of concentration of restored glutathione and ATP.
