[The problems of expertise of biomedical projects and assigning them status of breakthrough and world-class].

There was a sharp increase in the number of scientific fields, research fronts, publications and patents in biomedicine in the last five years, which complicates the work of the experts on the selection of projects for priority funding. The approaches to the identification of perspective directions of research used in the world were examined. An attempt was made of formalization of the concepts of "breakthrough research" and "world level research" in relation to the Russian biomedical projects.

The quantitative parameters of neurogenic influences on the heart rate is offered: the dispersion of histograms of differences between successive RR intervals of ECG, the number of zero differences and the value of sum of differences between successive RR intervals.

[The quantitative analysis of the balanced state (or condition) of the neurogenic influences on the heart rhythm].

The technique of the analysis of the R-R subsequent series intervals differences in the prolonged heart rhythm records is offered. The differences reflect the certain regularities of the heart rhythm change (heart rate deceleration and heart rate acceleration). The offered parameters of the differences characterize the condition of the heart and the whole organism.

[Clinical and prognostic significance of left bundle branch block in patients with severe chronic heart failure].

Clinical and prognostic significance of left bundle branch block (LBBB) was investigated in 62 elderly patients with severe chronic heart failure (CHF). In comparison to 93 patients with CHF but without intra-ventricular blocks patients with LBBB demonstrated more frequently atrial fibrillation and left ventricular systolic dysfunction but less frequently chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, anemia and a history of myocardial infarction. Fourth-year follow-up showed that LBBB was not important predictor of survival in patients with severe CHF.
