Background: Patients with hematologic diseases are at higher risk of the SARS-CoV-2 infection and more severe clinical outcomes of the coronavirus disease. CHRONOS19 is an observational prospective cohort study with the aim to determine the short and longer-term clinical outcomes, risk factors for disease severity and mortality, and rates of postinfectious immunity in patients with malignant and nonmalignant hematologic diseases and COVID-19.

Patients And Methods: Overall, 666 patients were enrolled in the study, of which 626 were included in the final data analysis.

Aim: To analyze the association between the polymorphic markers in CTLA4, TNF, IL10 and IL16 genes and the risk of manifestation of endocrine ophthalmopathy (EO) in patients with Graves' disease (GD).

Materials And Methods: Case-control study included 248 patients with GD. Using polymerase chain reaction we studied the distribution of alleles and genotypes of polymorphic markers such as A60G (rs3087243) in CTLA4 gene, G(-308)A (rs1800629) in TNF gene, G(-1082)A (rs1800896) in IL10 gene, T3249C (rs4778641) in IL16 gene among 141 patients with Graves' disease and EO and 107 patients with GD without EO.

Results of comprehensive ELISA tests of blood serum for the presence of IgM-, IgA-, and IgG-antibodies to herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, human herpesvirus 6, human herpes virus 8 type, Chlamydia trachomatis in 38 patients with uveal melanoma are presented. The polymerase chain reaction was used to detect DNA of these pathogens in tumor biopsies, vitreous body of 10 enucleated eyes, as well as in plasma IgG-antibodies to HHV 6 were revealed in 50% of patients; IgG-antibodies to HHV 8, in 5.3% of patients.

In this work, the results of a comprehensive laboratory examination of 37 children with retinoblastoma were described. The presence of Igm-, IgA, - IgG- antibodies to the herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, cytomegalovirus (СMV), epstein-Barr virus (eBV), human herpes virus (HHV) type 6, Toxoplasma gondii, mycoplasma hominis and ureaplasma urealyticum in the serum was tested using ELISA. In the polymerase chain reaction the DNA of these pathogens were detected in the blood plasma of 18 patients and tumor biopsy specimens from 10 eyes.

Electrophysiological examinations (in accordance with the ISCEV Standards and original protocols) were performed after neoadjuvant chemotherapy or before and after superselective intra-arterial chemotherapy (SIACT) in 18 children aged 1-3 years with either newly diagnosed advanced retinoblastoma (8 eyes) or resistant retinoblastoma (14 eyes). The most considerable decrease in amplitude was demonstrated by the cone response b-wave, photopic 24 Hz flicker electroretinogram (ERG), photopic negative response, and the P1-component of multifocal ERG, indicating a significant dysfunction of bipolar and ganglion cells, more pronounced in the macular zone. After the SIACT, central retinal functions improved.
