Background: The outlook of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in low-and-medium-income-countries is poor. Modern farming practices in Nigeria are becoming increasingly associated with the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Aim: The study aimed to evaluate agrochemical use in farming practices and risk factors for kidney disease among dwellers of rural farming communities in South-West Nigeria.

Abnormalities of Kidney Function in Acute Malarial and non-Malarial Infections.

Introduction: The tropical environment is endemic with malaria and non-malarial infections which are responsible for the high morbidity and mortality in these low- and middle-income countries. In particular, acute malarial infection can cause significant multi-organ dysfunction, including kidney involvement. Early detection of kidney dysfunction will help to improve the quality of care and reduce associated morbidity and mortality.

Profile and determinants of intention to migrate by early career doctors in Nigeria: A report from CHARTING study.

Introduction: Recently, there has been an upsurge in the migration of medical personnel, especially early career doctors (ECDs) from low- and middle-income countries, Nigeria inclusive, to high-income countries with wide-ranging consequences on the social and economic systems of the donor countries. This study assessed the profile and determinants of intention to emigrate by ECDs in Nigeria.

Methods: A cross-sectional study conducted among Nigerian ECDs from nine tertiary hospitals.
