Detection of antibody directed against human leukocyte antigens (HLA) using a combination of flow cytometric crossmatch (FCXM) and antibody tests, is an important responsibility of Histocompatibility laboratories. Proficiency testing surveys utilize the results of these assays to assess concordance across multiple laboratories.
