More globally diverse perspectives are needed in genomic studies and precision medicine practices on non-Europeans. Here, we illustrate this by discussing the distribution of clinically actionable genetic variants involved in drug response in Andean highlanders and Amazonians, considering their environment, history, genetic structure, and historical biases in the perception of biological diversity of Native Americans.

The clinical and tomographic evaluation made it possible to plan and perform the maxillary sinus lift using the transcrestal approach and without the need for bone grafting. The residual ridge of 6mm allowed the placement of a simultaneous dental implant.

Oral PrEP requires high levels of adherence to be effective, which may disadvantage certain high-risk groups. The first injectable HIV PrEP, a drug given every 2 months rather than as a daily pill, was approved by the US Food & Drug Administration in December 2021.
