Lateral ankle ligament injuries occur in connection with inversion traumas and are one of the most common injuries, both in the general population and among athletes. A lateral ankle ligament injury weakens the stabilising structures in the ankle and disposes the ankle joint to prolonged instability. Acute lateral ankle ligament injuries with no suspicion of fracture can be treated and followed up conservatively in the primary health service.

α-bungarotoxin is a large, 74 amino acid toxin containing five disulphide bridges, initially identified in the venom of snake. Like most large toxins, chemical synthesis of α-bungarotoxin is challenging, explaining why all previous reports use purified or recombinant α-bungarotoxin. However, only chemical synthesis allows easy insertion of non-natural amino acids or new chemical functionalities.

We present Zn-dependent dimethyl-dipyridophenazine PNA conjugates as efficient RNA cleaving artificial enzymes. These PNAzymes display site-specific RNA cleavage with 10 minute half-lives and cleave clinically relevant RNA models.
