Body image concerns are key prognostic and pathogenic factors of anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN). This study aimed to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying body image perception across its two domains of estimation and satisfaction in anorexia and bulimia patients and healthy controls (HC). Systematic searches were conducted across eight databases, including PubMed; Cochrane Library; Ovid; Google Scholar; Sage Journals; Scopus; PsycInfo; and ScienceDirect, from database inception until the 23rd of April 2023.

The electrocytes have a disc-shaped portion and, on one of its sides, numerous thin processes, termed stalklets. These unite to stalks leading to a single main stalk that carries the innervation site.

Extensive knowledge on nutrition and dieting has been associated with an increased risk of orthorexia (an obsession with food that one considers healthy) within the research literature. A systematic review was conducted to identify the prevalence of orthorexia in individuals who were employed in, or studying, health careers. The databases Psychinfo and Pubmed were searched to obtain research articles.

Immunofluorescence localization of tubulin and of Short stop, a spectraplakin that has been reported to be involved in the anchorage of microtubule minus ends at the membrane, suggests the presence of non-centrosomal microtubule-organizing centers at the distal tip of the visual cells. Ultrastructural analyses confirm that microtubules emanate from membrane-associated plaques at the site of contact with cone cells and that all microtubules are aligned in distal-proximal direction within the photoreceptor cells.
