The perpendicular magnetocrystalline anisotropy, magnetoelastic properties as well as the Gilbert damping factor in CoFeMnSi thin films were found to depend on a magnetic layer thickness, and they can be also tuned by the application of additional Ag buffer layer. The tetragonal distortion of a magnetic layer was found to increase with decreasing thickness, and after the application of an additional Ag buffer layer, the character of this distortion was changed from tensile to compressive in the plane of a film. A correlation between the tetragonal distortion and perpendicular magnetocrystalline anisotropy was found.

CoFeMnSi (CFMS) and CoFeGaGe (CFGG) Heusler alloys are among the most promising thin film materials for spintronic devices due to a high spin polarization, low magnetic damping and giant/tunneling magnetoresistance ratios. Despite numerous investigations of Heusler alloys magnetic properties performed up to now, magnetoelastic effects in these materials remain not fully understood; due to quite rare studies of correlations between magnetoelastic and other magnetic properties, such as magnetic dissipation or magnetic anisotropy. In this research we have investigated epitaxial CFMS and CFGG Heusler alloys thin films of thickness in the range of 15-50 nm.

Experimental evidence of tremendous magnetic moment dynamical inversion, from metastable trapping state to the state with essentially the same moment oriented in the opposite direction, appearing during giant flux jump connected to thermomagnetic avalanche process in superconducting YBaCuO single crystal, is presented. Magnetization inversion takes place in the system, without thermal contact between sample and sample holder, with a tremendous stored energy once the avalanche process is completed in quasi-adiabatic conditions. A model of magnetic moment inversion, caused by the jump between two metastable states of superconductor with the same energy storage, is presented and discussed in terms of the critical state with peculiar evolution of the critical-current spatial distribution.

The article includes analysis and generalizations about international and national experience as well as regulatory requirements for the organization and performance of occupational monitoring for radiation exposure (category A personnel), filling of the national dose registries. It is shown that for practical reasons it is justifiable to provide universal individual monitoring of category A personnel, regardless of the expected dose of radiation. The establish ment and functioning the national dose registry should not be limited to the mechanical collection and accumulation of data of non-guaranteed quality.

Background Vaccinium myrtillus leaves are known to be rich in phenols and have been used in traditional medicine as an antidiabetic remedy. This study evaluated the powder extract of V. myrtillus leaves obtained with the use of L-arginine and myo-inositol for anti-obesity and lipid-lowering potential in hamsters.
