Psychiatric Sequelae in Adult Open Globe Injury Patients.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate psychiatric sequelae in open globe injury patients and to identify the risk factors associated with these sequelae.

Methods: After a complete ophthalmologic examination, Davidson Trauma Scale (DTS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and Zung Depression Scale (ZDS) scores were administered to all patients. Patients were divided into 5 groups according to final best corrected visual acuity (BCVA): group 1 (no perception of light, NPL), group 2 [perception of light (PL) or hand movements (HM)], group 3 (1/200 to 19/200), group 4 (20/200 to 20/50), and group 5 (20/40 or above).

Validation of a Simple HPLC/UV Method for Assay and In Vitro Release of Glycosaminoglycan from Pharmaceutical Formulations.

This study encompasses the validation of a simple, rapid, and sensitive HPLC/UV method developed in accordance with the guidelines set by ICH Q2(R2) for obtaining the active pharmaceutical ingredient from the glycosaminoglycan family in topical formulations. Previous methods reported for analyzing glycosaminoglycans in semisolid formulations are relatively complex and time-consuming, involving extraction, purification, and derivatization. This developed analytical method allows for straightforward extraction of the active pharmaceutical ingredient from the matrix, enabling the direct injection of samples.

Effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with or without orbicularis oculi muscle removal on anterior segment parameters, keratometry, and ocular biometry.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with or without the removal of a strip of orbicularis oculi muscle on corneal topographic parameters, anterior segment parameters, intraocular pressure, and ocular biometry.

Method: This prospective study examined 428 eyes of 214 patients with dermatochalasis. Patients were divided into two groups randomly: those who underwent orbicularis oculi muscle excision (Group 1) during blepharoplasty and those who did not (Group 2).

The Effect of Latanoprostene Bunod 0.024% on Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography in Newly Diagnosed Open Angle Glaucoma.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of topical latanoprostene bunod 0.024% applied once daily on intraocular pressure and macular vessel density in newly diagnosed primary and pseudoexfoliative open angle glaucoma patients.

Methods: A total of 66 patients with newly diagnosed open angle glaucoma were included in this study (group 1).

Evaluation of pseudoexfoliation syndrome patients with systemic immune indexes.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the level of peripheral blood systemic immune indexes in pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXS) patients and to compare the results with healthy controls.

Methods: This study included 143 healthy controls (group 1) and 100 patients (group 2). Peripheral blood samples were collected from all participants.
