[Higher cortisol levels in frequently ill children as a factor increasing susceptibility to acute respiratory infections].

The authors have defined some specific features of performance of the immune and lipid-transporting systems in their association with serum cortisol levels in frequently ill children when the signs of an infectious process are absent. The possible links of a pathological process, which give rise to enhanced susceptibility to acute respiratory infections in this patient group, are described.
