The combustion of diesel in engines contributes polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) present in the atmosphere, therefore causing toxic mitigating consequences by eliciting oxidative modulation. Currently, type 2 diabetes mellitus is reported as a global menace, causing about 1.5 million deaths in 2019 and contributing to about 48% of related deaths among the populace aged below 70 years.

Heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) is a protein that works as a chaperone and an antioxidant and is activated by heat shock, environmental stress, and pathophysiological stress. However, HSP27 dysregulation is a characteristic of many human cancers. HSP27 suppresses apoptosis and cytoskeletal reorganization.

Studies have shown that diesel exhaust particles (DEP) induced oxidative stress and inflammation. This present study examined the molecular effects of aqueous rooibos extract (RE) on the cardiovascular toxic effect of methanol extract of DEP in exposed Wistar rats. The results showed that DEP caused significant (p < 0.

The purpose of this series of experiments was to determine the effect of various types of immunosuppressive treatments (cyclophosphamide, infectious bursal disease virus [IBDV], chicken anemia virus [CAV], and combination infection with IBDV and CAV) on susceptibility of chickens to challenge with avian polyomavirus. In the first experiment, chickens were chemically bursectomized with intraperitoneal injections of cyclophosphamide; in the second study, chickens were orally inoculated with IBDV; in the third study, birds were intramuscularly inoculated with CAV; and in the final study, birds were inoculated with both IBDV and CAV. In all experiments, chickens were challenged with 10(4.
