We aimed to develop criteria for assessing the outcomes of targeted medical treatment of primary aldosteronism, analyse outcomes across an international cohort, and identify factors associated with a complete treatment response.
Methods: An international panel of 31 primary aldosteronism experts used the Delphi method to reach consensus on the definition of complete, partial, or absent biochemical and clinical outcomes of medical treatment of primary aldosteronism.
Background: Tumour type, treatment and patient related factors contribute to cancer associated venous thromboembolism (VTE), however, the role of each factor and the mechanisms involved are not understood.
Aim: To assess the role of the tumour, and of chemotherapy, in mediating the procoagulant response associated with VTE in gynaecological cancer patients.
Methods: Gynaecological cancer patients who developed VTE during follow-up (n = 59) (VTE+) were matched with treatment naïve(treatment (-)(VTE-)(n = 120) and chemotherapy treated patients(treatment (+)(VTE-) (n = 57)).
We discovered that the light entering a triangular ultramicrotome glass knife from the bottom exits the knife through its cutting edge, forming an oblique light sheet illumination suitable for imaging. We adopted this light sheet for side illumination of the sample blocks during sectioning on the ultramicrotome, for 3D imaging, and for targeting fluorescent features for confocal-, electron- and correlative microscopy. In this paper, we present a working prototype named CELS-3D (Cutting Edge Light Source, Three-Dimensional), a microscope mounted on an ultramicrotome.

The objective was to carry out an online survey among drivers who have telematics versus drivers who do not and compare their behaviors in terms of risks and violations controlling for key demographics an exposure.
Methods: An online anonymous survey was conducted of 780 home delivery drivers of which 430 used telematics in 2022.
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) metabolism and cell growth uniquely rely on glutamine uptake by the transporter ASCT2. Despite previous data reporting cell growth inhibition after ASCT2 knockdown, we here show that ASCT2 CRISPR knockout is tolerated by TNBC cell lines. Despite the loss of a glutamine transporter and low rate of glutamine uptake, intracellular glutamine steady-state levels were increased in ASCT2 knockout compared to control cells.

In this study, leveraging a recent advance in single-cell genomic technology, we introduce snPATHO-seq, a versatile method to derive high-quality single-nucleus transcriptomic data from FFPE samples. We benchmarked the performance of the snPATHO-seq workflow against existing 10x 3' and Flex assays designed for frozen or fresh samples and highlighted the consistency in snRNA-seq data produced by all workflows.

The objective of this study was to develop short forms of HRQoL questionnaires which consist of a 63-item and 25-item parent self-report (PSR) and parent proxy-report (PPR), respectively, optimizing use in routine clinical settings.
Methods: Short questionnaires were developed following exploratory factor analysis using raw data from 132 parents.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have potential as diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive biomarkers in solid tumors. Despite Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of CTC devices in various cancers, the rarity and heterogeneity of CTCs in lung cancer make them technically challenging to isolate and analyze, hindering their clinical integration. Establishing a consensus through comparative analysis of different CTC systems is warranted.

We describe steps for photoconversion in mice during the onset of computationally relevant events in a virtual reality environment, followed by removal and dissociation of the photo-labeled tissue, and separation of differentially labeled groups with fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). We then detail procedures for characterizing and examining functionally relevant groups using standard bioinformatic techniques.

Purpose: The aim of this scoping review is to categorize 3D-printing applications of polymeric materials into those where there is evidence to support their clinical application and to list the clinical applications that require a greater evidence base or further development before adoption.
Materials And Methods: An electronic search on PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus (Elsevier), and Cochrane Library databases was conducted, including articles written in English and published between January 2003 and September 2023. The search terms were: ((3D printing) OR (3-dimensional printing) OR (three dimensional printing) OR (additive manufacturing)) AND ((polymer) OR (resin)) AND (dent*).
Background: Clinical practice guidelines recommend the Lateralization Index (LI) as the standard for determining surgical eligibility in primary aldosteronism (PA). Our goal was to identify the optimal LI cut-offs in adrenal venous sampling (AVS) for diagnosing PA that is amenable to surgical cure.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective international cohort study across 16 institutions in 11 countries, including 1,550 patients with PA who underwent AVS, with and/or without ACTH stimulation.
This systematic review investigates the potential of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) as a predictive biomarker in the management and prognosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal (SCCA). PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Registry of Controlled Trials were searched until 7 January 2024. Selection criteria included research articles exploring ctDNA in the context of anal cancer treatment response, recurrence risk assessment, and consideration of salvage surgery.
