In Scandinavia, HPV vaccination programs started in 2007/8; in Sweden and Denmark with HPV vaccination offered to multiple cohorts of young girls, while in Norway offered to a single cohort only. Interestingly, in Sweden and Denmark, cervical cancer incidence in young women decreased markedly from 2017/2018, while in Norway a steady increase was seen until 2020. As the three countries are very similar in other factors important for cervical cancer incidence rates like cervical cancer screening, the observed difference is most likely due to differences in the multi-cohort vaccination.

In Norway, single-cohort vaccination with quadrivalent human papillomavirus (qHPV) vaccine targeting 12-year-old girls took place in 2009-2016. In 2020, the oldest vaccinated cohort was 23 years old and had approached the age where risk of being diagnosed with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2+) increases rapidly. The aim of this cohort study was to assess direct qHPV vaccine effectiveness (VE) against CIN2+ among Norwegian women aged 16-30 years in 2007-2020.

Objective: Glucagon/glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor co-agonists may provide greater weight loss than agonists targeting the GLP-1 receptor alone. We report results from three phase 1 trials investigating the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the glucagon/GLP-1 receptor co-agonist NNC9204-1177 (NN1177) for once-weekly subcutaneous use in adults with overweight or obesity.

Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) regulates the proteolytic activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), playing an important role in the homeostasis of the extracellular matrix. Beyond its well-known role in tissue maintenance, TIMP-1 has been associated with multiple MMP-independent cytokine-like functions. The protein structure of TIMP-1, with two distinct domains, one interacting with MMPs and another able to bind multiple partners, provides a rationale for this multifunctionality.

Our objective was to identify plasma circulating miRNAs for the diagnosis of HNC (oral and laryngeal subsites), within a multicenter International Head and Neck Cancer Epidemiology consortium.

ELIXIR is a pan-European intergovernmental organisation for life science that aims to coordinate bioinformatics resources in a single infrastructure across Europe; bioinformatics training is central to its strategy, which aims to develop a training community that spans all ELIXIR member states. In an evidence-based approach for strengthening bioinformatics training programmes across Europe, the ELIXIR Training Platform, led by the ELIXIR EXCELERATE Quality and Impact Assessment Subtask in collaboration with the ELIXIR Training Coordinators Group, has implemented an assessment strategy to measure quality and impact of its entire training portfolio. Here, we present ELIXIR's framework for assessing training quality and impact, which includes the following: specifying assessment aims, determining what data to collect in order to address these aims, and our strategy for centralised data collection to allow for ELIXIR-wide analyses.
