Causes of maternal mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa: A systematic review of studies published from 2015 to 2020.

Background: Maternal deaths remain high in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and their causes of maternal death must be analysed frequently in this region to guide interventions.

Methods: We conducted a systematic review of studies published from 2015 to 2020 that reported the causes of maternal deaths in 57 SSA countries. The objective was to identify the leading causes of maternal deaths using the international classification of disease - 10 revision, for maternal mortality (ICD-MM).

Spontaneous bilateral tubal ectopic pregnancy: a case report.

Bilateral tubal ectopic pregnancy is a very rare form of extra-uterine pregnancy with high maternal morbidity and mortality if intervention is delayed. We report the case of a 27-year-old para 2 gravida 3 patient who presented in haemorrhagic shock after delayed diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. An ultrasound scan noted a right tubal ectopic pregnancy.

A rare case of Meigs syndrome in pregnancy.

We present a case of Meigs syndrome in a 19 year old woman. We suspected metastatic ovarian cancer after she had presented in her first pregnancy at 12 weeks gestation. Ultrasound scan had confirmed a complex solid mass in the left adnexa, measuring 7cm x 8cm, a viable 12 weeks pregnancy and gross ascites.

Gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma metastasizing to the vulva: a case report.

Background: Metastatic vulval adenocarcinoma is a rare occurrence with only a few cases reported to date. They can arise from the breast, gastrointestinal system, or endometrium.

Case Presentation: We present the case of a 55-year-old Black African woman who presented with vulval itching which progressed to warty lesions.
