Efficiency of intranodal lymphangiography in the treatment of postoperative lymphatic leakage.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of intranodal lymphangiography (IL) for the treatment of postoperative chyle leakage (CL), chylothorax, and chylous ascites.

Methods: Between April 2018 and July 2022, eight patients who underwent IL for CL following thyroid and thoraco-abdominal surgeries were included in this retrospective study. Among these eight patients, six underwent bilateral total thyroidectomy, one underwent lobectomy of the lung, and one underwent total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.

Evaluation of sociodemographic and nutrition-related factors for type 2 diabetes risk: a sample from Turkiye.

Background: Considering the increasing prevalence of diabetes, we aimed to evaluate the risk of diabetes in our sample and its relationship with sociodemographic and nutrition-related factors.

Using mass spectrometry, we demonstrated that PCH undergoes hydrolysis and oxidation in solution, resulting in the formation of aeruginoic acid (AA).

Nebivolol (NB), which is a commonly used β adrenoreceptor blocker, shows protective effects against oxidative stress and inflammation-related processes. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the possible protective effects of NB via the vascular cell adhesion molecule-1/matrix metalloproteinases-9 (VCAM-1/MMP-9) signaling pathway on systemic inflammation induced testicular dysfunction. Four groups of 32 male Wistar Albino rats were divided as (n = 8 for each) the control; lipopolysaccharide (LPS; 5 mg/kg on the third day); LPS + NB (NB: 10 mg/kg for three days and 5 mg/kg LPS 30 min following the last NB dose); NB (10 mg/kg for three days).

Effects of Kefir Consumption on Gut Microbiota and Athletic Performance in Professional Female Soccer Players: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background/objectives: This study aimed to determine the impact of the daily consumption of kefir on the gut microbiome, body composition, and athletic performance of professional female soccer players.

Methods: The participants encompassed 21 females aged 18-29 years who were assigned to one of the two groups: the experimental group, which comprised females who consumed 200 mL of kefir daily for 28 days, and the control group, which comprised females who continued with their normal diet. Anthropometric measurements, dietary intake, the composition of the gut microbiome through 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and an athletic performance test known as the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test were performed before and after the intervention.

Promoting organizational learning in nursing: examining the influence of participatory leadership, psychological ownership and motivation.

Purpose: The study was designed to investigate the moderating role of employee motivation as a mediator of psychological ownership in the relationship between nurses' perception of participatory leadership and their organizational learning behaviors.

Design/methodology/approach: The study included 476 nurses working in a training and research hospital in the east of Turkey. This study, prepared in accordance with the Strobe checklist, was designed as a cross-sectional descriptive study.

Background: Trapeziectomy and abductor pollicis longus hammock ligamentoplasty may be performed in the surgical management of trapeziometacarpal joint osteoarthritis (TMC OA). Several anaesthesia techniques are available for TMC joint surgery, including wide-awake local anaesthesia no tourniquet (WALANT), regional anaesthesia, and general anaesthesia (GA). The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of trapeziectomy and abductor pollicis longus hammock ligamentoplasty performed under WALANT versus GA.

Detecting IDH and TERTp mutations in diffuse gliomas using H-MRS with attention deep-shallow networks.

Background: Preoperative and noninvasive detection of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and telomerase reverse transcriptase gene promoter (TERTp) mutations in glioma is critical for prognosis and treatment planning. This study aims to develop deep learning classifiers to identify IDH and TERTp mutations using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS) and a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) architecture.

Methods: This study included H-MRS data from 225 adult patients with hemispheric diffuse glioma (117 IDH mutants and 108 IDH wild-type; 99 TERTp mutants and 100 TERTp wild-type).

Management of melanoma has changed significantly with the discovery of targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Our aim in the study is to determine which treatment alternatives, specifically dabrafenib plus trametinib and ICIs, are effective in adjuvant therapy and which treatment is effective as first-line metastatic therapy. This retrospective, multicenter study included 120 patients diagnosed with stage IIIB-IIID melanoma receiving both adjuvant and first-line metastatic treatment between 2007 and 2023.

Therefore, patients with a previous history of negative FPB and ongoing suspicion of PCa are beginning to emerge. This study investigated whether the first biopsy type (standard or fusion) should be effective in deciding on a second biopsy.
