Low bone mineral density (BMD) is common in hemophilia patients. Identifying high-risk patients for low BMD early is essential to prevent complications and reduce morbidity. The parathyroid hormone (PTH)/calcium (Ca) ratio is a cost-effective marker for predicting BMD, highlighting the need for routine screening and early intervention in this population.

However, most population models fail to explicitly consider all four processes, which may hinder a comprehensive understanding of how and why populations change over time. The advent of Integrated Population Models (IPMs) and recent developments in spatial mark-recapture models have enabled deeper insights into demography and dispersal.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of intranodal lymphangiography (IL) for the treatment of postoperative chyle leakage (CL), chylothorax, and chylous ascites.
Methods: Between April 2018 and July 2022, eight patients who underwent IL for CL following thyroid and thoraco-abdominal surgeries were included in this retrospective study. Among these eight patients, six underwent bilateral total thyroidectomy, one underwent lobectomy of the lung, and one underwent total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.
Background: Considering the increasing prevalence of diabetes, we aimed to evaluate the risk of diabetes in our sample and its relationship with sociodemographic and nutrition-related factors.
Methods: We conducted the study in Afyonkarahisar province of Turkiye with participants aged 18-65 years. In this face-to-face study, we used a questionnaire on sociodemographic information and general dietary habits and the FINDRISC screening tool.
Iron is essential for bacterial growth, and synthesizes the siderophores pyochelin (PCH) and pyoverdine to acquire it. PCH contains a thiazolidine ring that aids in iron chelation but is prone to hydrolysis, leading to the formation of 2-(2-hydroxylphenyl)-thiazole-4-carbaldehyde (IQS). Using mass spectrometry, we demonstrated that PCH undergoes hydrolysis and oxidation in solution, resulting in the formation of aeruginoic acid (AA).

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the possible protective effects of NB via the vascular cell adhesion molecule-1/matrix metalloproteinases-9 (VCAM-1/MMP-9) signaling pathway on systemic inflammation induced testicular dysfunction. Four groups of 32 male Wistar Albino rats were divided as (n = 8 for each) the control; lipopolysaccharide (LPS; 5 mg/kg on the third day); LPS + NB (NB: 10 mg/kg for three days and 5 mg/kg LPS 30 min following the last NB dose); NB (10 mg/kg for three days).

Background: The objective of this study is to evaluate the correlation between survival outcomes and the modified cachexia index (mCXI) in patients with metastatic breast cancer who have been treated with cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitors.
Methods: This study was conducted on patients with metastatic breast cancer who received CDK 4/6 inhibitors (either Palbociclib or Ribociclib) between January 2020 and November 2024.
Results: 240 patients were included.
Unlabelled: Perimenstrual attacks have been reported in up to 15% of patients with FMF, suggesting that menstruation may be a trigger for FMF attacks. The aim of this study was to investigate menstrual period patterns and dysmenorrhea in adolescents with FMF in comparison to their healthy peers. This cross-sectional case-control study included 73 FMF patients and 70 age- and body mass index-matched controls.

Contrasting distributional responses among species can alter the spatial overlap between predators and prey, potentially disrupting trophic interactions and affecting food web dynamics. Here, we evaluate long-term changes in the spatial overlap of habitat suitability ranges for trophically related species, including crustaceans, fish, penguins, and pinnipeds across 12 Large Marine Ecosystems from the Southern Hemisphere, merged into three primary regions: South America, Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

In the context of social cognitive theory, this study examines the impact of general and sports nutrition knowledge (GeSNK), nutrition self-efficacy (NSE), and nutrition counseling self-efficacy (NCSE) on the dietary recommendations (DRs) provided by coach candidates and coaches (CC&Cs). Additionally, it explores variations in GeSNK, NSE, and NCSE among CC&Cs based on their sports positions, genders, and types of sports.

Methods: The participants encompassed 21 females aged 18-29 years who were assigned to one of the two groups: the experimental group, which comprised females who consumed 200 mL of kefir daily for 28 days, and the control group, which comprised females who continued with their normal diet. Anthropometric measurements, dietary intake, the composition of the gut microbiome through 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and an athletic performance test known as the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test were performed before and after the intervention.

One of the most effective approaches to reducing unnecessary antibiotic exposure is through the implementation of antibiotic stewardship programmes (ASPs).
Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of ASPs in reducing the use of vancomycin in neonates hospitalized in our NICU.
Background: Increasing quality and efficiency in health services can directly relate to nurses' innovative work behaviors. The happiness levels of nurses at the workplace can positively affect their innovative work behaviors and their willingness to make a positive difference in patient care. In this context, the study aims to examine the serial mediation role of these factors by associating the effect of nurse happiness on innovative work behaviors with transformational leadership and perception of artificial intelligence use.

Therefore, dual blockade of these cytokines may result in an enhanced response compared to single targeting and has the potential to break efficacy ceilings in asthma. This study assessed the safety and tolerability of lunsekimig, a bispecific NANOBODY molecule that blocks thymic stromal lymphopoietin and interleukin-13, and its effect on Type 2 inflammatory biomarkers and lung function in asthma.

Methods: This study included H-MRS data from 225 adult patients with hemispheric diffuse glioma (117 IDH mutants and 108 IDH wild-type; 99 TERTp mutants and 100 TERTp wild-type).
Management of melanoma has changed significantly with the discovery of targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Our aim in the study is to determine which treatment alternatives, specifically dabrafenib plus trametinib and ICIs, are effective in adjuvant therapy and which treatment is effective as first-line metastatic therapy. This retrospective, multicenter study included 120 patients diagnosed with stage IIIB-IIID melanoma receiving both adjuvant and first-line metastatic treatment between 2007 and 2023.

Background: Arthrocentesis is a minimally invasive procedure for treating intra-articular temporomandibular disorders. While it is considered relatively safe, like any surgical intervention, it carries potential risks.
Purpose: The study purpose was to estimate the frequency of complications associated with temporomandibular joint arthrocentesis, identify risk factors, and improve preparedness for effective prevention and management strategies.
Seed priming and plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) may alleviate salt stress effects. We exposed a salt-sensitive variety of melon to salinity following seed priming with NaCl and inoculation with Bacillus. Given the sensitivity of photosystem II (PSII) to salt stress, we utilized dark- and light-adapted chlorophyll fluorescence alongside analysis of leaf stomatal conductance of water vapour (G).

Objectives: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has revolutionized the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Still, the efficacy and safety in patients older than 85 years of age are not conclusive by the present randomized controlled trials' data (RCT). Aging is a multifactorial process and the impact of MT on this specific population needs to be further analyzed.
