- The study aimed to analyze the iliolumbar artery (ILA) anatomy to provide reliable, evidence-based information for reducing complications in pelvic procedures.
- A comprehensive review of major medical databases revealed that the ILA originates predominantly from the internal iliac artery in 93.62% of cases, with an average diameter of 2.67 mm and length of 12.50 mm.
- Contrary to previous literature, the findings suggest that the ILA anatomy is relatively consistent, with the point of origin being notably close to specific vertebral landmarks.
