Duodenal-type follicular lymphoma (DFL) is a rare subtype classified by the 5th edition of the WHO and international consensus classifications of lymphoid neoplasms, typically presenting as localized disease with favorable outcomes. This multicenter retrospective study examines 53 Brazilian DFL patients with a median age of 58.2 years (33-85), with males comprising 50% ( = 27).

COVID-19 in chronic myeloid leukemia patients in Latin America.

This observational, multicenter study aimed to report the clinical evolution of COVID-19 in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia in Latin America. A total of 92 patients presented with COVID-19 between March and December 2020, 26% of whom were severe or critical. The median age at COVID-19 diagnosis was 48 years (22-79 years), 32% were 60 years or older, and 61% were male.

Digital technologies and collective intelligence for healthcare ecosystem: Optimizing Internet of Things adoption for pandemic management.

This paper proposes a framework based on the principle to understand how the healthcare ecosystem is facing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 by using the Internet of Things (IoT) combined with other digital technologies. Objectives: Evaluate practices of secondary prophylaxis and the frequency of relapse in patients who survived IF and were exposed to subsequent periods of immunosuppression.

Anatomical variations of the median nerve and of the vascular-nervous structures at the wrist.

Three cases of anatomical variation of the median nerve at the wrist found during our surgical activity led us to take the opportunity to expose anatomical variations by reviewing already published reviews. Consequently, on the basis of anatomical studies, clinical reports and imaging, as a result of careful examination of the published literature, it has been observed that the interventions in such anatomical area must take into account these variations. In particular, the most performed procedure is the lysis of the transverse carpal ligament (TCL), which is not free from complications.

Influence of occlusal characteristics, food intake and oral hygiene habits on dental caries in adolescents: a cross-sectional study.

Fusarium species are frequent agents of onychomycosis and fungal keratitis, and occasional agents of invasive disease. The clinical spectrum of fusariosis in the lungs includes allergic disease (allergic bronchopulmonary fusariosis), hypersensitivity pneumonitis, colonization of a preexisting cavity, and pneumonia. Ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow is an important and relatively frequent pathological condition that may be related to different causes depending on individual or external factors. The cause of the nerve lesion is also idiopathic in about one-quarter to one-third of cases. This variable aetiopathogenetic presentation has often suggested different diagnostic and clinical approaches and, moreover, various surgical procedures.

Benign neural sheath tumours of major nerves: characteristics in 119 surgical cases.

Functional analysis of the preproendothelin-1 gene promoter in pulmonary epithelial cells and monocytes.

At least two human preproendothelin-1 mRNAs are produced by a single gene through the use of different promoters, and the mechanisms controlling the production of these alternative transcripts might be cell-specific. In human lung, endothelin-1 is produced by vascular endothelial cells, bronchial epithelial cells, and pulmonary monocytes/macrophages. Given the important role of endothelin-1 in the pathogenesis of some pulmonary diseases, we carried out a functional analysis of the preproendothelin-1 gene promoter(s) in bronchial epithelial cells and lung monocytes.

An anatomy of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel is reported in two separate cases.
