Schwannomas (SCs) are benign tumors composed of neoplastic Schwann cells and are relatively uncommon intracranially. Although these tumors are frequently associated with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), they may also arise idiopathically, and their pathogenesis remains poorly understood. A 70-year-old Caucasian man presented with a two-month history of vertigo, gait imbalance, and decreased visual acuity in the left eye accompanied by photophobia, nausea, vomiting, and occasional headaches.

Positive mental health is defined as the ability to perceive and interpret the context of a situation and to adapt to it whenever necessary. Considering the pandemic situation, identifying the factors that may have the greatest impact on quality of life and consequently, on positive mental health is paramount. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of health literacy on the adoption of behaviours that promote positive mental health during COVID-19.

Sleep disorders are very common in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Several parameters of polysomnography seem to correlate with cognitive scores and amyloid biomarkers in the different stages of AD. However, there is limited evidence for the relationship between self-reported sleep impairment and disease biomarkers.

[Ischaemic or transient attack? Magnetic resonance imaging in transient ischaemic attack: a review of 106 cases].

Introduction: Transient ischaemic attack (TIA) has classically been defined as an episode of self-limited focal neurological deficit lasting up to 24 hours, with no neuroimaging evidence of established acute ischaemic injury. However, the definition of this entity is changing, and is adapting to new times and new diagnostic techniques, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with diffusion sequences. An early and comprehensive approach to TIA, including MRI, is important to rule out clinically recovered established ischaemic strokes, in order to optimise the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients.

The psychological impact on frontline nurses in Spain of caring for people with COVID-19.

Aim: To understand the perceptions of National Health System nurses who have been working on the frontline of the psychological impact of caring for people with COVID-19 during the first and second waves.

Methods: A qualitative study, the design and analysis of which was based on phenomenology. For data collection, a semi-structured interview was administered to a sample of nurses who worked on the frontline in public hospitals in Extremadura and Madrid, Spain.

Assessment of high spatial resolution satellite imagery for monitoring riparian vegetation: riverine management in the smallholding.

Riverine habitats are essential ecotones that bridge aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, providing multiple ecosystem services. This study analyses the potential use of high-resolution satellite imagery, provided by the WorldView-2 satellite, in order to assess its viability for monitoring riparian ecosystems. It is performed by calculating the riparian strip quality index (RSQI) and calibrating it with the riparian quality index (QBR).

Genomics improves risk stratification of adults with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia enrolled in measurable residual disease-oriented trials.

Genetic information has been crucial to understand the pathogenesis of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) at diagnosis and at relapse, but still nowadays has a limited value in a clinical context. Few genetic markers are associated with the outcome of T-ALL patients, independently of measurable residual disease (MRD) status after therapy. In addition, the prognostic relevance of genetic features may be modulated by the specific treatment used.

Bloodstream Infections in Patients with Cancer: Differences between Patients with Hematological Malignancies and Solid Tumors.

Objectives: To assess the clinical features and outcomes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bloodstream infection (PA BSI) in neutropenic patients with hematological malignancies (HM) and with solid tumors (ST), and identify the risk factors for 30-day mortality. Methods: We performed a large multicenter, retrospective cohort study including onco-hematological neutropenic patients with PA BSI conducted across 34 centers in 12 countries (January 2006−May 2018). Episodes occurring in hematologic patients were compared to those developing in patients with ST.

COVID-19 infection: Positive mental health, psychological vulnerability and sex: Cross-sectional study.

Unlabelled: Since mid-March 2020, a state of emergency was decreed in Portugal due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, consequently, measures were implemented to protect public health, such as social isolation, which will certainly have a notable impact on the mental health of the population, especially in the most vulnerable groups. Positive Mental Health (PMH) is essential to deal with adversity, in this case with the pandemic, and to live better and with greater satisfaction. We consider it relevant to investigate how PMH was used as a resource to deal with the pandemic, depending on the level of vulnerability and sex.

From Health Literacy to Self-Care: Contributions of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing.

To assess the effect of combination antibiotic empirical therapy on 30-day case-fatality rate in neutropenic cancer patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) bacteremic pneumonia. This was a multinational, retrospective cohort study of neutropenic onco-hematological patients with PA bloodstream infection (BSI) (2006−2018). The effect of appropriate empirical combination therapy, appropriate monotherapy and inappropriate empirical antibiotic therapy [IEAT] on 30-day case-fatality was assessed only in patients with PA bacteremic pneumonia.
