Hybrid nano- and microparticles based on metal ion crosslinked biopolymers are promising carriers for the development of drug delivery systems with improved biopharmaceutical properties. In this work, dexamethasone phosphate-containing particles based on chondroitin sulfate and chitosan or diethylaminoethyl chitosan additionally crosslinked with Zn were prepared. Depending on the polycation/polyanion ratio in the system, anionic and cationic polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) were obtained.

A new promising binuclear tetranitrosyl iron complex with 2-methoxythiophenolyl of the composition [Fe(CHOS)(NO)] (complex 1), which acts on the therapeutic targets of cardiovascular diseases, guanylate and adenylate cyclase, has been synthesized. X-ray diffraction data show the presence of two isoforms of complex 1; according to quantum chemical calculations, the structure of only the trans isomer is stable in solutions. The processes of transformation of complex 1 in DMSO, in aqueous solutions, as well as in the presence of bovine serum albumin, reduced glutathione, and mucin were studied.

High-molecular-weight dinitrosyl iron complexes (DNICs) are formed in living systems and are a stable depot of nitrogen monoxide (NO). In this work, using experimental and theoretical methods, we investigated the interaction of their synthetic analog, a promising cardiotropic complex of the composition [Fe(SC(NH))(NO)][Fe(SO)(NO)], with bovine serum albumin (BSA) in aqueous aerobic solutions. We suggested that, under these conditions, the decomposition product of the initial complex with oxygen, the [Fe(NO)(NO)] fragment, can bind in the hydrophobic pocket of the protein.

To detect the clinical diagnostic criteria for non-invasive diagnosis of erosive gastritis in children with juvenile arthritis have been studied the 92 children aged 9 to 16 years (mean age-13,9 ± 2,3 years) with verified diagnosis of juvenile arthritis, of whom 10 had erosive gastritis (group 1) and 82 without erosions (group 2). A comparison of the groups on 23 grounds by analysis of contingency tables and the subsequent discriminant analysis, has developed a new non-invasive method for determining the erosive lesions of the mucous membrane of the stomach in children with juvenile arthritis, including a score of history, complaints and the results of laboratory studies the level of the G-17, pepsinogen I, pepsinogen II, and the ratio of pepsinogen I to pepsinogen II, the presence of autoantibodies to the H+, K+/ATPase of the parietal cells of the stomach, the test for occult blood "Colon View Hb and Hb/Hp". In 98 patients with chronic gastritis clinical-morphologic analysis was performed. The analysis included: the examination of gastric biopsy specimens, determination of HP-status by means of a group of methods, determination of antibodies to H+/K+ -ATPase of parietal cells of the gastric wall, IgG-EA-EBV and IgM-NA-EBN antibodies in the blood serum by means of IFA method, pepsinogene I, pepsinogene II, gastrin and antibodies to Hp with the use of Biohit gastric panel, 24-hour monitoring of intragastric pH with the use of Gastroscan-24 machine. Comparison of all parameters was performed in 4 groups: 27 children aged 6-17 with non-autoimmune gastritis and 119 children with gastritis of other etiology, 34 patients aged 18-80 with autoimmune gastritis and 43 patients of the same age group with non-autoimmune gastritis were described.

Seven chiral arylglycerol ethers 2-R-C(6)H(4)-O-CH(2)CH(OH)CH(2)OH (R = H, Me, Et, Allyl, n-Pr, i-Pr, tert-Bu) were synthesized in racemic and scalemic form. The IR spectra, melting points, and enthalpies of fusion for racemic and scalemic samples of every species were measured, the entropies of enantiomers mixing in the liquid state and Gibbs free energies of a racemic compound formation were derived and binary phase diagrams were reconstructed for the whole family. A new prognostic criterion was developed to evaluate the severity of different forms of viral hepatitis, by studying zinc metabolism. In patients with viral hepatitis, zinc metabolic disturbances were ascertained to occur concurrently with pigment, protein, and carbohydrate metabolic disturbances, an increase in the activity of some serum enzymes (glutamine alkaline transferase, glutamine pyruvate transferase, alanine aminotransferase), and a reduction in hepatic antitoxic function. The indicator of normalization of zinc metabolism may be an additional prognostic criterion for evaluating the full recovery of a patient.
