A recent discovery of additional mechanism of electroluminescence (EL) in noble gases due to the neutral bremsstrahlung (NBrS) effect led to a prediction that NBrS EL should be present in noble liquids as well. A theoretical model of NBrS EL in noble liquids was developed accordingly in the frameworks of Cohen-Lekner and Atrazhev. In this work, we confirm this prediction: For the first time, visible-range EL has been observed in liquid argon at electric fields reaching 90 kV/cm, using gas electron multiplier (GEM) and thick GEM structures.

The main directions of the development of new types of highly effective and environmentally safe "green" kinetic hydrate inhibitors (KHIs) based on biopolymers are analyzed. The structure, physicochemical properties, efficiency of gas hydrate formation inhibition, and commercial prospects of polysaccharides in preventing and controlling the formation of gas hydrates are considered.

Modified and functionalized polysaccharides with a strong ability to inhibit the formation of deposits of typical scale, such as carbonates and sulfates of alkaline earth elements found in technological processes, are described. This review discusses the mechanisms of the inhibition of crystallization using polysaccharides, and the various methodological aspects of evaluating their effectiveness are considered.

For (TbLu)bdc·nHO MOFs (bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate) containing more than 30 at. % of Tb, only one crystalline phase was formed: Lnbdc·4HO.

At the Eu concentration of 1-40 at %, the MOFs were formed as a binary mixture of the (EuLu)bdc and (EuLu)bdc·4HO crystalline phases, where the Lnbdc·4HO crystalline phase was enriched by europium(III) ions. Electron micrographs show that the europium(III) terephthalate microparticles are 7 μm long leaf-like plates. According to the dynamic light scattering technique, the average size of the Eubdc·4HO nanoparticles is equal to about 8 ± 2 nm.

Methods: Reproductive age women with AEH and Grade 1-2 endometrioid EC with no or minimal myometrial invasion on MRI treated with different regimens of HT were prospectively analyzed. Treatment protocols included levonorgestrel intrauterine device (LNG IUD), gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (aGnRH) or high-dose oral medroxyprogesteron acetate (MPA) separately and in combinations.
Aim To study efficacy and safety of a triple antithrombotic therapy with direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) versus warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation after acute coronary syndrome, for 12 months following discharge from the hospital.Materials and methods This single-site cohort, prospective, observational study performed at the Regional Vascular Center 2 of the N.A.

Methods for conservative and surgical treatments of AF, including their comparative aspect, are described in detail. The review presented recent data on efficacy and potential risks of different approaches to reversing the arrhythmia.

Materials And Methods: The analysis used data from the hospital register, which contained information on all PCIs, performed in the Semashko hospital between September 2016 and August 2018 (2378 patients). For this study we selected a sample of 183 ACS patients (146 men and 37 women) after PCI: 25 with definite stent thrombosis confirmed by repeated coronary angiography (CAG) (the main study group), and 158 without developing definite stent thrombosis (the comparison group) according to the observation for 12 months.
Aim: To study the comparative efficacy and safety of clopidogrel and ticagrelor in the "double" antiplatelet therapy (DATT) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the early and late periods in real clinical practice, and to assess adherence to treatment.
Materials And Methods: The study included 109 patients with ACS, who underwent PCI. Patients were divided into two groups: the 1st group (n=57) - received ticagrelor and the 2nd group (n = 52) - received clopidogrel in the DATT for 12 months.
The review analyzed current ideas on prevalence and clinical significance of atrial fibrillation following acute coronary syndrome; described modern approaches to administration of antithrombotic therapy; and addressed available clinical studies on the treatment with warfarin and new oral anticoagulants as a part of combination antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation and acute coronary syndrome.

The review focuses on comparative efficacy and safety of ticagrelor and clopidogrel and the effect of double antiplatelet therapy on stent thrombosis. The issue of patients' compliance with double antiplatelet therapy is also discussed.

A series of new studies is considered and the results of our long-term experimental observations are summarized. The results of these studies form the basis for an explanation of some effects in interactions between optical waves and atmospheric turbulence.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFeatures of optical wave fluctuations while propagating through a randomly inhomogeneous turbulent medium with a finite outer scale are considered, including conditions when areas with dominating influence of one large-scale coherent structure are observed in the atmosphere, for which the spectrum of atmospheric turbulence can differ significantly from the Kolmogorov model spectrum. Using an approximate model of the spectrum for coherent turbulence, described earlier in our works, the variance of jitter of an optical image is calculated (under the applicability condition for the smooth perturbation method). The comparison of these equations with known similar equations for Kolmogorov turbulence has shown that the variance of fluctuations is significantly weaker in coherent turbulence than in the Kolmogorov theory under similar conditions.

We also have looked at the influence of the turbulence models as well as an outer scale of turbulence on the parameters of telescopes and systems of laser beam formations. This question is important mainly for ground-based astronomy.

A trend to an increase in the levels of matrix metalloproteinases 7 and 9 and reduction of vascular endothelial growth factor type 2 receptors in tumor tissue was also detected. A highly significant negative correlation between the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor and matrix metalloproteinase 2 and positive correlations between vascular endothelial growth factor and matrix metalloproteinase 7, vascular endothelial growth factor and matrix metalloproteinase 9, matrix metalloproteinase 2 and vascular endothelial growth factor type 2 receptors were revealed.

At the same time, expressions depending on geometrical and movement parameters, where cavitation might start, are given. The results are obtained using simple engineering terms, which can be used in cases whether it is necessary to avoid cavitation or to induce it.

Objective: Ovarian cancer has the highest mortality of all the gynecologic malignancies with most patients diagnosed at late stages. Serum CA-125 is elevated in only half of patients with stages I-II. We identified 3 serum proteins (apolipoprotein A-1, transthyretin, and transferrin) for the detection of ovarian cancer and reported them combined with CA-125 to effectively detect early-stage mucinous tumors.

The subjects were 201 elderly patients with AH. The study revealed that uncomplicated AH in the elderly was characterized by activation of vascular hemostasis and increase of thrombocyte aggregation ability, manifested by the increase of Willebrand factor level, the presence of spontaneous and irreversible aggregation, coincidence of the first and the second waves of aggregation, and intensification of aggregation in response to "moderate" and "strong" inductors.
