Since 1960, there has been a growing interest in the complexity of the ethical problems posed by medical practice. Ever since then, many ethical theories have attempted to support bioethics, setting the necessary grounds for decision making process. The aim of this article is to briefly present the history and working of a pediatric hospital's Assistance Ethics Committee, as well as its evolution from the very beginning.
