The association of dementia risk symptoms and functional activity in adults with Down syndrome.

Introduction: Adults with Down syndrome (DS) have an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia, often showing neuropathological indicators by age 40. Physical function and activities of daily living (ADLs) are understudied areas of function that may inform dementia risk. We investigated associations among age, physical function (gait/balance, grip strength, and lower extremity strength), ADLs, and dementia risk symptoms in adults with DS.

VAERS Vasculitis Adverse Events Retrospective Study: Etiology Model of Immune Complexes Activating Fc Receptors in Kawasaki Disease and Multisystem Inflammatory Syndromes.

Background: Vasculitis diseases include Kawasaki disease (KD), Kawasaki disease shock syndrome (KDSS), Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS), Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HS), or IgA vasculitis, and additional vasculitis diseases. These diseases are often preceded by infections or immunizations. Disease incidence rates are higher in children than in adults.

Models for COVID-19 Early Cardiac Pathology Following SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

Objectives: The clinical manifestations of COVID-19 associated cardiac complications are heterogeneous, ranging from asymptomatic to severe symptoms, including arrhythmias and cardiogenic shock. Proteomic analysis of pancreatic zymogen granules: identification of new granule proteins.

The composition of zymogen granules from rat pancreas was determined by LC-MS/MS. Enriched intragranular content, peripheral membrane, and integral membrane protein fractions were analyzed after one-dimensional SDS-PAGE and tryptic digestion of gel slices. A total of 371 proteins was identified with high confidence, including 84 previously identified granule proteins.
