Prevalence, Knowledge and Awareness of Pelvic Floor Disorder among Pregnant Women in a Tertiary Centre, Malaysia.

Pelvic floor disorders are common and of concern, as the majority of maternity healthcare providers seldom discuss this issue with patients compared to other antenatal issues. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence and to assess the knowledge and awareness of pelvic floor disorder (PFD) among pregnant women in a tertiary centre in Malaysia. We also aim to assess the association between women’s risk factors regarding their knowledge and awareness of pelvic floor disorder so that primary prevention strategies can be planned, initiated and implemented in the future.

Primary umbilical endometriosis successfully treated with dienogest.

Primary umbilical endometriosis (PUE) is a rare gynaecological disorder. A majority of the reported cases were treated with surgical excision as medical treatment had been found to be less successful. We reported a case of PUE successfully treated with dienogest without any profound side effects from the drug.

Kiwi Omnicup versus Malmstrom metal cup in vacuum assisted delivery: a randomized comparative trial.

Aim: To compare the success, clinical outcomes, and maternal and neonatal complications between the Kiwi Omnicup and the Malmstrom metal cup in vacuum assisted delivery.

Methods: This was a prospective randomized comparative trial. Women who required vacuum assisted vaginal delivery were randomized into the Kiwi Omnicup (KO) group and the Malmstrom metal cup (MM) group.
