Influencing factors of pneumothorax and parenchymal haemorrhage after CT-guided transthoracic needle biopsy: single-institution experience.

Purpose: To evaluate the incidences and influencing factors of pneumothorax and parenchymal haemorrhage after computed tomography (CT)-guided transthoracic needle biopsy (TTNB).

Material And Methods: A retrospective analysis of 216 patients who underwent CT-guided TTNB was performed. The frequencies and risk factors of pneumothorax and parenchymal haemorrhage were determined.

Background: According to controversial guideline for management in case of hemodynamically stable blunt abdominal injury with microscopic hematuria. Most ofthe patients could be omittedfor abdominal computed tomography (CT). Despite high sensitivity and specificity ofabdominal CT, in addition to high medical cost, there are risks from radiation exposure and adverse reaction from use of contrast media.
