Mid to long term follow up of early weightbearing after open reduction internal fixation of ankle fractures.

Introduction: Studies have demonstrated successful outcomes with early weightbearing following open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) of specific ankle fractures. The external validity of an early weightbearing protocol and its effects on patient-reported outcome information scores (PROMIS) has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to investigate the effects of an early weightbearing protocol for all operatively treated ankle fractures and its impact on clinical outcomes and complications.

Background And Objectives: This research is considered the first of its kind in Kirkuk City to study the activity of lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase (LCAT), the levels of apolipoprotein A-1 (Apo A-1), and Fatty acid binding protein-4 (FABP4) and some biochemical variables in T2DM patients who uncontrolled the disease (glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C)˃8%) and compared with patients who controlled the disease (HbA1C˂7%) and healthy controls (HbA1C≤5.5%), and find the correlation among them.

Methods: This research included 184 persons [128 patients (70 uncontrolled DM and 58 controlled DM + 56 healthy patients] aged (40-80) years from both sexes.

This is especially true in low-income countries like Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) where recognizing the intricate relationship between access to healthcare and social determinants of health (SDOH ) is crucial to addressing health disparities. The goal of this study was to elucidate and highlight not only the barriers millions face in obtaining eye care but also pave the way for interventions and policies aimed at creating equitable access across diverse populations.

Interstitial pregnancy: A retrospective case series of surgically managed patients over a ten-year period.

Aims: To describe the ultrasound diagnostic features and surgical management procedures for patients with an interstitial ectopic pregnancy in our tertiary institution and associated peripheral hospital over a ten-year period.

Methods: A retrospective audit of all surgically managed cases of interstitial pregnancies over a ten-year period at a tertiary hospital and one associated peripheral hospital in New South Wales.

Results: Sixteen cases of surgically managed interstitial pregnancy were identified.

Video based hand gesture recognition dataset using thermal camera.

The dataset includes thermal videos of various hand gestures captured by the FLIR Lepton Thermal Camera. A large dataset is created to accurately classify hand gestures captured from eleven different individuals. The effect of aqueous extract of root (ALE) on the survival of La-5 and Bb-12 probiotic bacteria and sensory and physicochemical properties of synbiotic yogurt was evaluated during 4 weeks storage at 4°C. According to this study, using 0.5% and 1% ALE significantly affected the survival of La-5 and Bb-12 during storage.

Background: During natural catastrophes, hospital staff members' readiness for crisis management-particularly concerning patient evacuation and improving their safety-becomes paramount. Method: A systematic review was conducted by searching databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, ProQuest, and grey literature through May 2023.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the effect of a reduced dose regime (1 + 1) of PCV10 and PCV13 along with 3-dose regimes on pneumococcal vaccine-type (VT) carriage and immunogenicity in the first two years of life in PCV-naïve Indian children.

Methods: A total of 805 healthy infants aged 6-8 weeks were randomised to 7 groups (n = 115). Six groups received Synflorix(PCV10) or Prevenar13(PCV13) in the following schedules: 3 + 0 (three primary at 6, 10, and 14 weeks); 2 + 1 (two primary 6 and 14 weeks with booster at 9 months; 1 + 1 (one primary at 14 weeks with booster at 9 months).
