Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of a novel approach using a sterile caliper for anterior chamber (AC) decompression in reducing post-intravitreal injection (IVI) intraocular pressure (IOP) spikes.
Methods: A prospective interventional case series conducted at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) with Institutional Review Board approval. Patients were randomized to receive conventional IVI or IVI with sterile caliper decompression.
Objective: Macular retinal nerve fibre layer (mRNFL) and ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer thickness (GC-IPL) measurements are important markers of diabetic retinal neurodegeneration (DRN). In this cross-sectional study, we aimed to quantify the contribution of total retinal thickness (TRT) and other factors in the variation of mRNFL and GC-IPL thickness among participants with diabetes.
Methods And Analysis: We used macular-centred spectral domain-optical coherence tomography scans from participants with diabetes in the UK Biobank.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe ocular blood flow changes in eyes affected by a carotid-cavernous fistula (CCF) using laser speckle flowgraphy. We hypothesized that imaging blood flow velocity waveforms in the retinal arterioles and venules simultaneously would reveal specific characteristics of an arteriovenous (AV) connection.
Design: The study was an observational case series, with a retrospective case-control analysis.

Purpose: We describe a case of traumatic cataract after improper use of a percussion massage gun over the periorbital area.
Observations: A 38-year-old female with a history of high myopia and fibromyalgia presented to the emergency department with painless monocular vision loss OS, noticed two days prior and described as a "white film" over her eye. BCVA was 20/20 OD and 20/600 OS.
Aim: The efficacy of antifibrinolytics in subarachnoid hemorrhage remains unclear due to conflicting evidence from studies.
Materials & Methods: Online databases were queried to include randomized controlled trials and propensity matched observational studies. We used Review Manager for the statistical analysis, presenting results as odds ratios with 95% CI.
Introduction: Most liver resections performed in the United States are open. With the ever-increasing role of robotic surgery, our study's role is to assess national outcomes based on the surgical approach.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of the 2015 National Readmission Database (NRD).
