In this work, a simple, low-cost method for fabricating random gain media from Rhodamine B dye solution containing highly-pure CuO nanoparticles in transparent resin hosts is proposed. The spectroscopic characteristics of the dye solution samples were investigated with varying dye concentrations, along with nanoparticles of different particle sizes and concentrations. The fabricated samples were excited using two laser sources (405 and 530 nm) to record the fluorescence spectra.

Infrared (IR) spectroscopy stands as a workhorse for exploring bond vibrations, offering a wealth of chemical insights across diverse frontiers. With increasing focus on the regime of single molecules, obtaining IR-sensitive information from individual molecules at room temperature would provide essential information about unknown molecular properties. Here, we leverage bond-selective fluorescence microscopy, facilitated by narrowband picosecond mid-IR and near-IR double-resonance excitation, for high-throughput mid-IR structural probing of single molecules.

Optical measurements of electric fields have wide-ranging applications in the fields of chemistry and biology. Previously, such measurements focused on shifts in intensity or frequency. Here, we show that nitrile vibrational lifetimes can report local electric fields through ultrasensitive picosecond mid-infrared-near-infrared double-resonance fluorescence spectro-microscopy on Rhodamine 800.

Aim: This study aimed to find the effect of hypothyroidism in men on metabolism and bone mineral density.

Method: The study included a patients group of 90 men suffering from hypothyroidism and 120 healthy subjects as a control group. The study comprised the estimation of the concentration of Blood free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroid hormone (FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), bone resorption index type I collagen C-terminal peptide (CTX-1), the serum calcium (Ca2+), serum phosphorus (Pi3+), the bone mineral density of the lumbar spine and femoral neck.
