Pharmacovigilance (PV) is crucial in healthcare but is still developing in Saudi Arabia, prompting a study to assess public knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding it and challenges in reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
A cross-sectional survey was conducted with an online questionnaire targeting adults, resulting in 1098 valid responses, where knowledge, attitude, and practice scores were analyzed statistically.
Findings revealed inadequate knowledge (average score of 37.8) among participants, although many had a positive attitude (average score of 90.1); overall, most participants displayed poor practices regarding reporting ADRs, especially among those without advanced degrees or healthcare professions.
