The role of elective perioperative dialysis in nondialysis renal failure patients.

Background: Patients with renal insufficiency represent a difficult group. They show an increased morbidity and mortality after heart surgery. Nondialysis chronic kidney disease patients show higher mortality than patients receiving chronic dialysis.
