Thrombotic events are well-known complications of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Inferior vena cava filters (IVCF) are devices used to prevent pulmonary embolism (PE) and also increase the risk of thrombotic complications. Here, we describe the case of a 38-year-old female with extensive bilateral lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and thrombosis of the infrarenal inferior vena cava (IVC) in the setting of an IVCF and symptomatic COVID-19.

Family history was significant for unprovoked deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in her father at age 44. Systemic examination revealed mild swelling of the right upper extremity with pain on palpation.

To circumvent these challenges, the cardiology clinic (Long Island Heart Rhythm Center [LIHRC]) at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) transitioned to a remote real-time outpatient cardiac telemetry (ROCT) service.
Objectives: The goal of this study is to test the hypothesis that at-home ROCT, provided by the LIHRC, is an effective method of providing ECG monitoring to symptomatic patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
