Background: Paliperidone is a second-generation antipsychotic and the main active metabolite of risperidone, formulated to provide consistent therapeutic effects through an extended-release system, designed to provide consistent therapeutic effects through an extended-release formulation. While commonly used in clinical practice, switching from risperidone to paliperidone, particularly during valproate therapy, can pose challenges due to potential pharmacokinetic interactions that may increase the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS). A 62-year-old man was referred to our hospital presenting with a sore throat, dyspnea, and cervical swelling. Initial precontrast CT scans revealed a cervical and mediastinal hematoma, along with a hemothorax. Further dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scans indicated contrast media extravasation dorsal to the right thyroid gland lobe, suggesting a rupture of the right inferior thyroid artery or a parathyroid adenoma.

In this study, deuterium boride (DB) nanosheets were synthesized as deuterated borophane through the ion exchange of magnesium cations in magnesium diboride with deuterons from a deuterium-type ion-exchange resin in acetonitrile. The Fourier-transform infrared absorption spectrum of DB exhibited clear isotope effects, namely the shift in the absorption peak of the B-H stretching vibrational mode to a lower wavenumber. Temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) from a mixture of DB and hydrogen boride (HB) nanosheets yielded a more intense hydrogen-deuterium (HD) signal compared to the H and D signals.

In cases of unresectable, locally advanced esophageal cancer, conversion surgery may be considered if chemotherapy produces favorable results and surgical resection is indicated. The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors in chemotherapy for esophageal cancer has expanded, and has increased the number of cases in which conversion surgery becomes possible. The patient in the present report had received a diagnosis of Stage Ⅳa esophageal carcinoma, and a prior nephroureterectomy discouraged the administration of platinum-based agents.
