Family eating behavior is determined by the meaning that the caretaker gives to food and the act of eating in the domestic environment, as well as the beliefs and perceptions around those concepts. Identify the place that nutrition has within the dimensions of child care, the specific weight that the caregiver gives to it within the range of actions deployed and if there are differences when the child exhibits neurodevelopmental disorders, as a contribution to the design of interventions in health promotion. Qualitative, exploratory, two-stage study, with the approach of cognitive anthropology; proposal sampling of maximum differences, 121 informants participated in three groups, caregivers of: (1) healthy children, (2) children who had been hospitalized between 3 and 6 months prior to the time of the interview, and (3) children with a diagnosis of permanent neurological injury and that express some type of neurodevelopmental disorder.

This is a special report on the work done by the institutional committee of the Virtual Campus in western Mexico to create an Internet portal that follows the guidelines of the strategic model established by Nodo México and PAHO for the Region of the Americas. This Virtual Campus began its activities in 2007, on the basis of the use of free software and institutional collaboration.

Material And Method: A case-control study of 254 newborns with isolated preauricular tags not considered part of a syndrome and their controls, and who were delivered at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara Dr. Juan I.
Objective: To assess STI/AIDS risk behaviors and occupational risk factors among adolescent hotel workers in Puerto Vallarta.
Material And Methods: Comparative cross-sectional study conducted in 1998, among 288 workers adolescents of 38 hotels in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Variables were collected on working conditions, environmental conditions, STI/AIDS risk behaviors, and sociodemographic characteristics.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of upper and lower neural tube defects and identify its association with the exposure to illnesses and drugs during pregnancy.
Material And Methods: This is a case-control study of 107 newborns with upper neural tube defects, 59 with lower neural tube defects, and 166 newborns without malformations, in 56,926 consecutive births between 1989 and 1997. The exposure was documented by a direct interview to the mother of those subject of study.
