Background: Specialty choices of medical undergraduates are important in planning educational programs and human resources for health-care delivery. The aim of this study was to investigate the specialty preferences of medical undergraduates and determine the factors that influenced their specialty choices.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional questionnaire-based survey carried out among final year medical undergraduates of University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, Enugu Nigeria.
Background: Dog bite injury treated in the emergency room varies from and within subregions in pattern and potential risk of transmission of rabies. This variation has implications in its morbidity and mortality. Background: Seat belts are designed to reduce injuries due to road crash among vehicle occupants.
Aims: This study aims to determine the availability of seat belt in vehicles and compliance with seat belt use among vehicle occupants.
Materials And Methods: This was a 24-h direct observational study of seat belt usage among vehicle occupants in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
Background: Acute osteomyelitis in neonates is uncommon and compartment syndrome complicating this condition is rare.
Method: The evaluation of a 4-week old female neonate who presented with compartment syndrome of the right forearm following an acute osteomyelitis of the right radius is presented.
Result: The patient had a full recovery with emergency fasciotomy and antibiotics therapy.
