Background: The utility of the suprascapular nerve block (SSNB) in the non-surgical management of shoulder pain continues to be explored, whilst its associated physical harms have not. This systematic review aims to report the physical harms associated with the SSNB in the non-surgical management of shoulder pain.
Methods: A search was undertaken of AMED, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Medline, Pubmed, and Scopus databases.
Background: Knowledge of patient lived experiences of functioning and disability is limited. This study aims to address the gap in the literature by exploring patient lived experiences of functioning and disability following lumbar discectomy.
Method: A secondary analysis, reported in line with the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research, was conducted of qualitative data exploring patient journeys following lumbar discectomy surgery (DiscJourn).
Background: Digital self-management platforms have been proposed as a solution to better support people manage their musculoskeletal (MSK) condition. However, research studies often explicitly exclude people who can't access internet connected devices. An important consideration is that digital exclusion (for people without access to an internet connected device) from these new digital options will worsen already existing inequality and inequity in healthcare.

Method: An online survey of Australian physical therapists with limited or extensive experience in managing individuals following amputation.

Introduction: Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions are the leading cause of disability in the United Kingdom, leading to ever-growing waiting lists. Clinical guidelines highlight that most musculoskeletal conditions resolve in time and with little clinical input, and so supporting people to self-manage is recommended to optimise healthcare resources. However, this behaviour is quite different from a study to another, so that literature suffers from a lack of coherence. Here we assume that the QD fluorescence efficiency is actually driven by the acid-base equilibrium of MCA thiol groups, and that light-excited QDs open a non-radiative relaxation path through photoinduced protonation.

In this paper, we report on the study of a novel type of substrate based on a highly crystalline ZnO film photo-irradiated using UV for enhancing the Raman signal. This effect is called photo-induced enhanced Raman spectroscopy (PIERS). This PIERS substrate is composed of a photo-irradiated thin ZnO film on which gold nanoparticles are deposited and allows large photo-induced SERS enhancement to be obtained for the chemical detection of small molecules compared to normal SERS signals.

First, the QDs fluorescence spectrum undergoes significant changes during the activation step which are explained thanks to an original analytical model based on QDs intra-aggregate screening and inter-QDs FRET. We also highlight the strong influence of biotin in solution on FRET efficiency, and define the experimental conditions maximizing the FRET.
