Unlabelled: The majority of patients do not receive anti-osteoporotic treatment following a major osteoporotic fracture, despite the guidelines and the availability of effective anti-osteoporotic treatments. The fight against factors limiting the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis should become a priority to improve secondary prevention after an initial osteoporotic fracture.

Purpose: Despite the availability of effective anti-osteoporotic treatments, osteoporosis management is currently insufficient.

Objective: To describe cases of development of pulmonary nodulosis or aseptic granulomatous lung disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) receiving anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) therapy.

Use of a posterior calf fasciocutaneous flap with distal pedicle to reconstruct a huge ankle defect.

A distally based posterior calf fasciocutaneous flap was successfully used to reconstruct a major ankle defect with exposed bones and joints. The flap, which reaches easily this region, can also be used as a free flap for coverage of heel and ankle when the forefoot is not involved in the injury.

IgA-containing immune complexes in the circulation of patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome.

IgA-, IgM- and IgG-containing immune complexes (CIC) were detected in 48, 19 and 12% of 52 patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS), in 36, 38 and 56% of 45 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and in 8, 5 and 3% of 40 normal controls. Twenty-five patients with idiopathic Raynaud's phenomenon were followed prospectively for a mean period of 48 months. Clinical and laboratory assessments were performed on admission and on followup. [Surgical treatment of hypoplasia of the ascending ramus of the mandible in children using an autologous osteochondral costal graft].

To lengthen the child's mandibular ramus, we use, since 1977, an autologous osteochondral rib graft fixed to the posterior margin of the ramus. Experimental studies show that this graft has a growth potential, the osteochondral junction responds to the biomechanical forces in a similar way to the mandibular condyle. Surgical treatment allows an immediate restitution of the morphology, normal masticatory function and good buccal opening.

[Comparative study of 3 therapeutic methods for Pouteau Colles' fracture. Apropos of 97 cases].

Results of three therapeutic modalities used for the treatment of a homogeneous series of patients with a Pouteau Colles fracture are analyzed. Orthopedic treatment provided deceiving results.
