In this study, we aim to develop and validate a radiomics model for pretreatment prediction of RPS6K expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients, thus helping clinical decision-making of mTOR-inhibitor (mTORi) therapy. We retrospectively enrolled 147 HCC patients, who underwent curative hepatic resection at First Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine. RPS6K expression was determined with immunohistochemistry staining.

One hundred and thirty-six patients and 80 healthy controls were screened consecutively, and 56 patients and 43 healthy controls were ultimately analyzed. Sleep disorders were confirmed using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index, the Epworth sleepiness scale, and polysomnography; patients were classified into those with poor and good sleep quality.

Background: In recent years, with the continuous development of treatments for hematological malignancies (HMs), the remission and survival rates of patients with HMs have been significantly improved. However, because of severe immunosuppression and long-term recurrent neutropenia during treatment, the incidence and mortality of bloodstream infection (BSI) were all high in patients with HMs. Therefore, we analyzed pathogens' distribution and drug-resistance patterns and developed a nomogram for predicting 30-day mortality in patients with BSIs among HMs.

Glycine betaine (GB), an osmoregulatory substance, has increasingly valuable effects on plant stress resistance. In this study, pepper seedlings were treated with different concentrations of GB under LL stress, and 20 mM of GB was the best treatment.

Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to analyze changes in flower fragrance-regulating genes , , and at different flower development stages and a daily change process at the full-blooming stage. The results show that there were differences in aroma components and contents of 'Fengdan' at different flower development stages and different time quantum of every day.

The current study seeks to clarify the link between LDL-C, hyperglycemia, and DPN in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: Here, a total of 120 T2DM individuals were recruited.
Lysine β-hydroxybutyrylation (K) is an evolutionarily conserved and widespread post-translational modification that is associated with active gene transcription and cellular proliferation. However, its role in phytopathogenic fungi remains unknown. Here, we characterized K in the rice false smut fungus Ustilaginoidea virens.

NAC (NAM, ATAF, and CUC) transcription factors are plant specific and have various functions in plant development and response to various stresses. To investigate how GsNAC2 functions in sorghum responses to saline-alkali treatment, the characteristics of GsNAC2 were analysed by bioinformatics methods, and NaHCO3 :Na2 CO3 (5:1, 75mM, pH 9.

Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors have exhibited promising treatment outcomes for PTCL patients. Therefore, this work aims to systematically evaluate the treatment outcome and safety profile of HDAC inhibitor-based treatment for untreated and relapsed/refractory (R/R) PTCL patients.

The outcomes after transplant are influenced by both disease characteristics and patient comorbidities. To develop a novel prognostic model to predict the post-transplant survival of CMML patients, we identified risk factors by applying univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression to a derivation cohort.

The study aimed to explore the relationship between cytotoxic T lymphocyte associate protein-4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphisms and the onset of thyroid cancer. 200 patients with thyroid cancer were included in the disease group and 200 healthy people were selected as the control group (all of them were admitted to Huashan Hospital (East) of Fudan University). The peripheral blood was collected in both groups, and the polymorphic regions at CTLA-4 gene loci rs3087243 (G>A), rs606231417 (C>T) and rs1553657430 (C>A) were amplified via polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

This study aimed to investigate the phenotype and genotype of -type MMA in Chinese patients.
Methods: We recruited 365 patients with -type MMA; investigated their disease onset, newborn screening (NBS) status, biochemical metabolite levels, gene variations and prognosis; and explored the relationship between phenotype and genotype.
A series of new tricyclic matrinane derivatives were continuously synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory effects on genes and proteins related to hepatic fibrosis at the cellular level, including collagen type I α1 chain (COL1A1), α smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), and matrix metalloprotein 2 (MMP-2). Among them, compound exerted an appealing potency and significantly reduced liver injury and fibrosis in both bile duct ligation (BDL) rats and Mdr2 knockout mice. An activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) assay indicated that might directly bind to Ewing sarcoma breakpoint region 1 (EWSR1) to inhibit its function and affect the expression of downstream liver fibrosis-related genes and thus regulate liver fibrosis.
