Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated how sterilization impacts the measurements of implants in a straight line using two different scanning methods: laboratory scanners (LBS) and intra-oral scanners (IOS).
  • A 3D model was used to conduct multiple scans of a titanium intra-oral scan body (ISB) both before and after sterilization, with the results analyzed for discrepancies in measurements.
  • Findings revealed that sterilization significantly increased measurement errors for most implant distances and axes, highlighting the need for further research to establish guidelines on the sterilization of ISBs.

This study aimed to compare the impact of CAD/CAM closed systems and open systems on the marginal gap of monolithic zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) ceramic crowns, as both systems are used in everyday dentistry, both chair-side and laboratory. For the closed system, 20 plastic teeth were scanned by a Primescan intra-oral scanner (IOS), and for the open system, the same number of plastic teeth were scanned by Trios 4 IOS. For the closed system, CEREC software was used, and for the open system, EXOCAD software was used.

: In this study, we aimed to compare the effects of conventional and digital impressions on several parameters (inter-implant distance, intra-implant distance, inter-implant axis, and intra-implant axis) of three implants in curved lines and straight lines by using a laboratory scanner (LBS) versus an intra-oral scanner (IOS). : Two 3D models were fabricated using a printer, each model with three internal hex implants analogues at the positions of 15#,16#,17# (straight line) and 12#,13#,14# (curved line). Standard intra-oral scan bodies (ISBs) were used, and the two models were scanned using 7 Series dental wings (LBS, reference model), followed by ten scans with Primescan (digital method).

Even after a successful ventricular tachycardia ablation (VTA), some patients have recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT) during their follow-up. We assessed the long-term predictors of recurrent VT after having a successful VTA. The patients who underwent a successful VTA (defined as the non-inducibility of any VT at the procedure's end) in 2014-2021 at our center in Israel were retrospectively analyzed.

Article Synopsis
  • Anti-PLA2R antibodies serve as a key diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in primary membranous nephropathy (PMN), indicating the severity and potential outcomes of the disease.
  • A study involving 41 PMN patients in Israel showed that higher levels of these antibodies at diagnosis correlate with increased proteinuria and lower serum albumin levels.
  • The research suggests that monitoring anti-PLA2R antibody levels can help predict remission and guide treatment strategies for PMN patients.
