Pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital malformation in which a nonfunctional segment of lung tissue has no communication with the tracheobronchial tree and does not participate in gas exchange. We present a rare case of a 20-month old female with extralobar pulmonary sequestration that was diagnosed at birth. The patient was also found to have a coexisting intralobar sequestration, found during surgery.

Gastric duplication cysts are a rare finding in the adult population. Duplication cysts comprise 4% of the alimentary tract duplications, and about 67% are usually discovered within the first year of life. They can be located anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract, with the majority located in the greater curvature of the stomach.

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia is a type of hemolytic anemia characterized by autoantibodies directed against red blood cells shortening their survival. When autoimmune hemolytic anemia is secondary to a paraneoplastic process, severe anemia can occur leading to significant morbidity and even mortality. Here we discuss the literature and present the case of a child with autoimmune hemolytic anemia from a paraneoplastic syndrome secondary to a renal tumor.
