A patient with an aortobronchial fistula secondary to a thoracic endovascular aortic repair was successfully treated with a re-thoracic endovascular aortic repair with debranching technique. Five months postoperatively, the aneurysm had shrunk; however, computed tomography revealed air in the thrombo-excluded aortic aneurysmal sac without signs of infection. Because of worsening air finding at the eighth month, we performed a resection of the residual fistula and wrapped the stent graft in a pedicled muscle flap.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an optical diagnostic modality that can acquire cross-sectional images of the microscopic structure of the esophagus, including Barrett's esophagus (BE) and associated dysplasia. We developed a swallowable tethered capsule OCT endomicroscopy (TCE) device that acquires high-resolution images of entire gastrointestinal (GI) tract luminal organs. This device has a potential to become a screening method that identifies patients with an abnormal esophagus that should be further referred for upper endoscopy.

Spinal cord ischemia is a well-known potential complication of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), and it is usually manifested by paraplegia or paraparesis. We describe a case in which spinal cord ischemia after EVAR presented by isolated bladder and rectal incontinence without other neurological deficits. Background: Although previous reports have described the repair of distal aortic arch aneurysms through debranching and chimney techniques, these methods invariably involve surgical management of the carotid artery. We report clinical results of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) using fenestrated stent grafts in the treatment of aortic arch aneurysms located less than 15 mm from the left common carotid artery.

New silsesquioxane incorporating a carbazole groups (PCTSQ) has been synthesized by a click thiol-ene reaction and a subsequent sol-gel reaction. To evaluate the electric property of this hybrid, diode devices have been fabricated by using PCTSQ thin film by spin-coating onto n-type ZnO film prepared by the electrodeposition method. The thin film hybrid devices showed good electric characteristics and high rectification ratio, as well as worked as a rectifier.

The membrane motor proteins, PomA (polar flagellar motility protein A) and PomB (polar flagellar motility protein B), of Vibrio alginolyticus form a stator complex that converts energy from the ion flow to mechanical work in bacterial flagellar motors. The cytoplasmic domain of PomA is believed to interact with the rotor protein FliG to make a torque. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) shows more pronounced relaxation when blood vessel is contracted with prostanoid receptor agonists than other stimulants. The present study was carried out to obtain information on the mechanisms underlying prostanoid receptor-selective relaxant action of DHA, particularly focusing on the possible roles for K(+) channels and its CYP epoxygenase (EOX) metabolites. In endothelium-denuded rat thoracic aorta, DHA (10(-5) M) almost completely relaxed U46619 (a thromboxane A2 (TP) receptor agonist)-contracted muscle without substantially affecting noradrenaline (NA)-induced contraction.
