[Basic and clinical studies on cefotiam in the field of obstetrics and gynecology].

It was known that antibacterial spectrum and activity of CTM were superior to those of other cephalosporins. Basic and clinical studies in the field of obstetrics and gynecology on CTM were carried out. The results were summarized as follows.

Relationship between left ventricular muscle volume and body surface area corrected by subcutaneous fat weight in normal children.

Left ventricular muscle volume (LVMV) was measured echocardiographically in 688 normal children ranging in age from 5 to 15. Lean body surface area (BSA) was obtained from height and lean body weight, which was estimated using triceps skinfold thickness, upper arm circumference and body weight. Regression lines of LVMV against BSA or lean-BSA were compared between boys and girls.

Erythrocyte changes in aqueous polyethylene glycol solutions containing sodium chloride.

In the analysis of stigma glycoproteins by cellulose acetate electrofocusing in self-incompatible crucifers, the staining method of the glycoproteins, described in the earlier report, has been improved by using Con A - peroxidase reactions to obtain a permanent profile of band patterns which are visible under day-light conditions. Cardiac hypertrophy in early hypertension.

This study describes the contribution of de novo glucose synthesis by the kidney to blood glucose homeostasis in rats. The net glucose release by the kidney in vivo was measured by an isotope-dilution method, which calculated the extent of dilution of injected [(14)C]glucose by glucose newly synthesized in the kidney. The extent of dilution was determined from the difference between the decrease of the actual blood glucose concentration and that of the radioactivity of [(14)C]glucose, after injecting [(14)C]glucose into functionally hepatectomized rats.
