Lipolysis-stimulated lipoprotein receptor (LSR), a lipid metabolism-related factor localized in tricellular tight junctions (tTJs), plays an important role in maintaining the epithelial homeostasis. LSR is highly expressed in well-differentiated cancers, and its expression decreases during malignancy. The LSR antibody inhibits cell growth and promotes apoptosis in some cancers.

Objectives: New scores were developed to identify at-risk metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) using multiparametric MRI (mpMRI).

Materials And Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 176 patients with suspected or diagnosed metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) paired with an MR scan, vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE), and liver biopsy. Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) using magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), proton density fat fraction (PDFF), and mpMRI-based corrected T1 (cT1) were combined to develop a one-step strategy, named MPcT (MRE + PDFF + cT1, combined score), and a two-step strategy-MRE-based LSM followed by PDFF with cT1 (M-PcT, paired score) for diagnosing at-risk MASH.

Oxaliplatin (L-OHP) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) are used to treat colon cancer; however, resistance contributes to poor prognosis. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) has been induced in tumor tissues after administration of anticancer drugs and may be involved in drug resistance. We investigated the mechanism of EMT induction in colon cancer cells treated with 5-FU and L-OHP.

Wilms' tumor protein 1 (WT1)-targeted immunotherapy has been used in patients with leukemia and solid tumors. However, the spontaneous WT1-specific immune response before WT1 peptide vaccination in patients with WT1-expressing tumors (PTs) remains unclear. Therefore, we investigated whether WT1-specific cytotoxic CD8 T-lymphocytes (CTLs) are clonally expanded in the peripheral blood outside of tumor sites.

We measure the complete set of angular coefficients J_{i} for exclusive B[over ¯]→D^{*}ℓν[over ¯]_{ℓ} decays (ℓ=e, μ). Our analysis uses the full 711  fb^{-1} Belle dataset with hadronic tag-side reconstruction. The results allow us to extract the form factors describing the B[over ¯]→D^{*} transition and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{cb}|.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compared EEG findings in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) versus dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD) to identify differences in brain activity patterns.
  • Visual analysis showed that patients with DLB/PDD had a lower posterior dominant rhythm (PDR) frequency and certain EEG patterns strongly indicated DLB/PDD while ruling out AD.
  • Both visual and automated EEG analyses yielded similar results regarding PDR, demonstrating that visual assessment effectively distinguishes between AD and DLB/PDD, with automated analysis acting as a supportive tool, particularly for Parkinson's-related dementia.

We present the results of a search for the b→dℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} flavor-changing neutral-current rare decays B^{+,0}→(η,ω,π^{+,0},ρ^{+,0})e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+,0}→(η,ω,π^{0},ρ^{+})μ^{+}μ^{-} using a 711  fb^{-1} data sample that contains 772×10^{6}  BB[over ¯] events. The data were collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. We find no evidence for signal and set upper limits on branching fractions at the 90% confidence level in the range (3.

The insulin-like growth factor II/mannose 6-phosphate (IGF-II/M6P) receptor is a multifunctional glycoprotein not only play roles in IGF-II degradation and pro-TGFβ activation but binding to and transport M6P-bearing lysosomal enzymes from the trans-Golgi network (TGN) or the cell surface to lysosomes. At present, information regarding a retrograde transport of IGF-II/M6P receptor from endosomes to the TGN is still limited. We show here that a continuous ligand-dependent activation of sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor type 3 (S1PR) on the endosomal membranes is required for subsequent recycling back of cargo-unloaded IGF-II/M6P receptors to the TGN.

Article Synopsis
  • Reproductive interference is an interaction that negatively affects reproduction between closely related species, potentially leading to their exclusive distributions; however, studies on native plants are limited.
  • The research focused on two plant species, Salvia japonica and S. lutescens, which have overlapping distributions at a larger scale but are found separately at smaller scales.
  • Findings indicated that while there was no significant competition for pollinators, mixed pollination reduced seed set in S. japonica, and hybrid seedlings were much less fertile; thus, reproductive interference likely contributes to their current separated distributions.

We report the results of the first search for B^{-} decays to the Ξ[over ¯]_{c}^{0}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} final state using 711  fb^{-1} of data collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating B^{-} decay and Ξ_{c}^{0}-Ξ[over ¯]_{c}^{0} oscillations which follow the standard model decay B^{-}→Ξ_{c}^{0}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}. We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions B(B^{-}→Ξ[over ¯]_{c}^{0}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-})/B(B^{-}→Ξ_{c}^{0}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}) to be <2.

Aim: Patients with schizophrenia typically exhibit symptoms of disorganized thought and display concreteness and over-inclusion in verbal reports, depending on the level of abstraction. While concreteness and over-inclusion may appear contradictory, the underlying psychopathology that explains these symptoms remains unclear. In the current study, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging with an encoding modeling approach to examine how concepts of various words, represented as brain activity, are anomalously connected at different levels of abstraction in patients with schizophrenia.
