B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders are characterized by the accumulation of mature B lymphocytes in the bone marrow, lymphoid tissues, and/or peripheral blood. They can cause amyloid deposits in the lungs. In rare cases, lung nodules can be the first sign of this disorder.

Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor Mimicking a Cavitary Lesion in the Lung: A Case Report and a Comprehensive Literature Review.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) are a group of soft tissue neoplasms with a predilection for the lungs and abdominopelvic cavity, characterized by a mixture of fasciitis-like, compact spindle cells, hypocellular fibrous histologic patterns, and distinctive molecular features. Due to their unspecified symptoms and non-specific radiologic presentation, the histopathologic and immunohistochemical analysis of a biopsy specimen is crucial for the diagnosis. We present a case of a 30-year-old man with intermittent hemoptysis diagnosed with a pulmonary IMT.

Epidemiology and outcome of infections with carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria treated with polymyxin B-based combination therapy.

Introduction: Infections with carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (CRGNB) are increasing and are associated with a high mortality. Synergistic effects of combination therapy with a polymyxin, carbapenem, and rifampin have been observed in in vitro studies. Clinical data are limited to retrospective studies.

Fragmented QRS complex: a novel marker of cardiovascular disease.

QRS complex fragmentation, defined as changes in QRS morphology with different RSR' patterns: additional R waves, notched S wave, or > 1R' wave, has recently been linked with various cardiac conditions and even been postulated to be predictive of outcomes in certain pathologies. The current article aims to consolidate the available information about this morphological ECG abnormality and its predictive value.
