In this study, 198 patients with low-grade gliomas (LGGs) undergoing primary resection were evaluated for seizure status at 24 months after primary resection with the Engel classification of seizures, and 120 patients had good seizure control (class I) while 78 patients had poor seizure control (class II-IV). Multivariate analysis showed that cortex involvement, subtotal resection, serum IL-6 concentration, and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were associated with poor seizure control. The area under curve (AUC) of serum IL-6 concentration, NLR and their combination applied in predicting poor seizure control was 0.
