Primary thyroid chondrosarcoma: a case report of an extremely rare malignancy.

Introduction: There are different types of malignant tumors that can affect the thyroid gland where differentiated thyroid carcinomas (papillary and follicular) are the most common representing nearly 90% of cases. Non-epithelial malignancies were also reported to affect the thyroid gland particularly lymphomas and sarcomas that were reported in literature to range from 0.01 to 1.

Prepubertal gynecomastia is not always idiopathic: case series and review of the literature.

Although pubertal gynecomastia is a common clinical presentation of adolescent males, prepubertal gynecomastia is uncommon and mostly idiopathic. However, pathological causes of prepubescent gynecomastia are encountered in clinical practice. This manuscript carries an important message to general pediatricians, to care about exclusion of pathological causes for every patient of prepubertal gynecomastia.

Anaplastic variant of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: Reappraisal as a nodal disease with sinusoidal involvement.

Anaplastic variant (av) of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is morphologically defined in the 2017 World Health Organization classification, but still an enigmatic disease in its clinicopathologic distinctiveness, posing the differential diagnostic problem from gray zone lymphoma (GZL) and classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). Thirty-one cases previously diagnosed as avDLBCL were reassessed. Of these, 27 (87%) and 4 (13%) were node-based and extranodal diseases, respectively.

In this study the effect of treatment with low dose PTX was examined using a model of cholestatic liver fibrosis.

The anaplastic variant of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (A-DLBCL) is morphologically defined but remains an enigmatic disease in its clinicopathologic distinctiveness. Here, we report two cases involving Japanese women aged 59 years, both with A-DLBCL with the hallmark cell appearance and both indistinguishable from common and giant cell-rich patterns, respectively, of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Case 1 was immunohistochemically positive for CD20, CD79a and OCT-2 but not for the other pan-B-cell markers, CD30 and ALK.

This study investigates the effect of the ergogenic supplement β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB) on insulin resistance induced by high-fructose diet (HFD) in rats. Male Sprague Dawley rats were fed 60% HFD for 12 weeks and HMB (320 mg·kg(-1)·day(-1), orally) for 4 weeks. HFD significantly increased fasting insulin, fasting glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin (HBA1C), liver glycogen content, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) index, while it decreased glucose and insulin tolerance.

It is designated to describe CD56-positive atypical gastric lymphoid proliferation, mimicking NK/T cell lymphomas, that shows an indolent clinical course with spontaneous regression.
