A supramolecular cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6])-enriched magnetic montmorillonite (CBCM) nanocomposite was prepared and characterized. CB[6] played a prominent role as a capping agent, helping in better distribution of the nanoparticles, and as a binder between nanoparticles. Montmorillonite provided structural stability and fortified ultrafast adsorption toward dyes.

Nanorods of cuprous oxide (CuO) were grown over the porous sheet, prepared from the seaweed cellulose, by one step hydrothermal method. The seaweed cellulose and CuO nanorods deposited seaweed cellulose sheets, were characterized by XRD, SEM-EDX, FT-IR, TGA and tensile test.

Sheet containing porous mesh was prepared from the extracted seaweed crystalline cellulose along with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorod clusters grown over the sheet by single step hydrothermal method.
